8th JPDU: Congradulation Kyoto University and Yoshiyuki Bori representing Kobe University!

The 8th JPDU was held on November 9th and Kyoto University came in 3rd place losing to the tournament champion ICU (International Christian University). Kyoto was able to defeat Kitakyushu A during the Semi-Finals, even though the best speaker prize went out for one of the Kitakyushu member.
Osaka University was unfortunate losing to Seikei University in the Oct-Finals, however, Kawaguchi Yusuke representing Osaka ended up winning the 9th best speaker prize not having to come back to Kansai empty handed.
The most prestigious accomplishment to the JPDU Kansai crew goes out to Yoshiyuki Bori representing Kobe University by advancing the squad to the quarter final, while taking home the honorable 2nd best speaker prize award home.
Overall, ICU took home the crown and the runners-up award, sending a strong message to the Japans' debating societies across the nation.

ESUJ 2005 Ends in Upset

The University Debating Competition was held at National Olympic Memorial Youth Center on October 9th and 10th, however, the results were not as prestigious as we had predicted as the Kansai crew. Here are the results. Team speaker points wise, Kyoto University after the preliminary rounds was in the 5th place, and Kansai Gaidai University was in the 8th. Thus, Kyoto and Kansia Gaidai University were one win away from breaking to the final rounds. Lets keep up the smart work, and hope to see everyone come back to Kansai with a big smile and certificates next year.

Koji Sobata Determined Wins 7th JPDU Nationals

Here is the results for the 7th JPDU Nationals held in Tokyo, with the grand prize going to Osaka Prefecture University. This tournament determined the best debators in Japan, and this prestigious placement at nationals by Osaka Prefecture University shows that the Kansai level of debating is something to be remembered. Congradulations, and good luck to the other universities around the Kansai region!
